DD1's school has an after school prgram at a nearby college (2 miles from school) that she wants to join. there is no parent drop off, they shuttle in a 11 passenger van from school A to school B. It's a paid transportation service, like a taxi van or whatever.
The kids are ages 6-10. There are no boosters allowed. From what I could see upon quick inspection of the van, they are all lap shoulder belts. But the majority of kids were putting shoulder belt behind their backs or under the armpit.
So, since it's illegal here to be in a lap shoulder w/o booster before 8, I'm concerned. While I'm aware that this transportation service might be an exception to the law, I'm still concerned about the safety of the kids. How can I approach the director about letting the kids bring boosters for the ride? My dd is 7 and will not be going without a booster, and being that it's the law, I don't think it's fair that they can tell you "no boosters".
