Is the YoungSport REALLY only a 40lb harness limit?

my friend bought one from her other car seat geek friend so it's trusted... she grabbed it for $40 to prevent her from selling it cheap on Craigslist. She doesn't really need it at all, just planned to play with it and resell. I was really interested in it for my older nanny kids but not with a 40lb harness!!! I thought this was a 50/60lb harness, no? I asked her and she said she can't find it written on the seat but its only a 40lb limit, ugh.

The prosport is ridicously high harness limit but, yep, only 40# of the Young sport. I am kinda hoping DD2 hits 40# before 5 years so I can get a ProSport but I really do love the Young sport. At the second slots and still 34# I don't think it will happen, especially since she is on an eating strike again

While the PS and YS are similar in almost every way, it's still NOT a YS. *pout*

I just am not feeling the love with the PS I did with the YS. And everyone knows how much I loved the YS! I can't pinpoint what it is, but I just can't love it. :(

And yes OP, it's 40 lbs but a decently high top slot so most kids should get to 40 lbs no problem. My 45" 5 year old still fits with room to spare but the harness adjuster strap was too short.

yep, real bummer. They gave their convertibles higher harness limits. The newer prosport has a 90lb limit, just so they can boast the highest harness limit even though it's unrealistic. I so want to try the prosport, but i already have a fr85 that i'd have to sell first and then if i didn't like the prosport, i'd be stuck. More stores need to carry them so i can try it out.

Well, that is good to hear. It satisfies that "new car seat itch" I have been having lately. I am sure DD2 will last to a good age in 40# harness.
