Girl scout event today....started at the police station & then drive over to the firehouse. the girls are in 1st grade so 6yos. the leaders said they would drive the girls from police to firehouse....knowing what their carseat practice is. um NO THANKS i'll drive my own thank you very much. 2 of girls had NBB but the rest?... i didn't see any. law in our state is 8 or 80lbs. most of these girls are much smaller than my DD. ok ok my 6yo is more like the average 7-8yo but passing the 5step test is out of the question. it was difficult not to say something about it. :( i hope they have decided to do the car seat check that is scheduled at the end of the month. they could use some help

That would have been hard for me to keep my mouth shut if I were in a similar situation. At least you were there to drive your own child safely.

Are you friends with any of the other parents? If so, were they aware that the kids were being transported illegally since they weren't in booster seats?

Honestly, knowing what the plan is, I would tip off the police station people and set them up for a lecture and the inconvenience of having to make multiple trips in the two boosters. Seriously, people stupid enough to BREAK THE LAW ON THEIR FIELD TRIP TO THE POLICE STATION deserve what they get.

we already had the trip so no tipping the police officers beforehand.

i'm not REALLY friends yet with the other parents. they're more like aquaintances.

i think i will send a friendly message with the info about the car seat check at our local school. i'm not sure how much of the schools "knows" about this check. i thnk maybe only the preschool got the info.
