Can someone tell me what this seat is, and how old is its? Its currently being used for a new infant (maybe 1 week old) It just screams old, and expired. they have a 8 year old also, so i'm assuming this is her old seat.

it's definitely a 3-pt... is it a discovery? someone here may be able to tell from the fabric pattern exactly what vintage it is...

It's definitely an Evenflo, but it's hard to say WHICH one by that picture. Most of the really old ones had paperclip-style chestclips, and certain models, like the Discovery, have been around for a long time.

I recall seeing that pattern in WalMart stores up until at least 2005, but who knows if that means anything.

ETA: The print doesn't mean anything, looked at the picture again and realized I've never even seen an evenflo infant seat with a crotch buckle like that.

that is an odd crotch buckle I think they threw an evenflo clip on it but I have no idea what seat it is

From comparing it to other pics, it could be as new as 05 or as old as 98. Poor thing, it scares me when I see little babies and 3pt harnesses.

That is the Evenflo Cozy Carry that was sold at Walmart as a travel system. I think the oldest it could be is 2002-2003. Evenflo was the only one that had that type of crotch buckle on the three point harness. Honestly, if they removed the headrest and actually pushed his tush all the way against the bottom of the seat, it might not be too bad. The Cozy Carry is just like the Portabout, with the same low harness slots. It's just that the chest clip is enormous, but the seat usually fits newborns well.

Yeah, for a three-point, it's not TOO terribly bad; aside from the aftermarket head support and lack of front adjuster. My Century three-point infant seat buckled clear down at the baby's feet, it was not a good thing at all. :( At least this three-point has the buckle up closer to baby's body.

I definately think that if they took a little time to really get him secure, they could. The head supports gotta go. It has no shape anyway. Then tighten up the straps and move up the ginormous chest clip. :D He should be ok then. I, of course, would perfer him in a 5pt, but with a little effort that seat would work.

TBH, I believe the harness would fit snugger & safer IF the chest clip was removed. It's just so huge on that likkle wee baby. I'd be worried about possible breathing issues trying to get the harness as tight as it should be.
