Ponder with me

I'm stuck holding a sleeping baby so play along please.

I'd like a seat to replace the Scenera for Caleb. I have 3 vehicles I need seats for him in. He's currently RFing in MAs outboard in a civic and envoy and the Scenera middle of the suburban.

What would you get him? He's 33 lbs and 2 years, 8 months old.

Keep in mind I can play carseat shuffle and use a MA in the suburban but all seating positions must stay the same. Also, RNs are incompatible in the suburban. I don't know about the other two cars.

Is 3 across an issue? Do you want a 40 lb rf limit to continue to rear face? If you do, probably the CA. If you want to ff, how about the Recaro - can't think what they call it. I'm kind of eyeing that.

I think I've come to terms with FFing at 35 lbs. I think he'll probably make it until 3 rfing. If I got a higher weight rfing seat, I'd put it in my Civic since I feel he's the least protected in that vehicle.

It'll need to be 3 across, but it's a wide seat. I can fit the MA next to a Frontier and still flip the seat down so size (outside of ginormous) shouldn't be an issue. :)

The little wiener just threw a fit because we weren't taking the car with the Scenera in it. Why do they like the unpadded seats the best? :p

I had the epiphany that maybe it was the HUGS on the MA so I took them off. He got in it fine after that, but that may just be because it's different. It looks weird to me without them. I've always used them with it so I didn't loose them. We'll see if it matters in his riding preferences. But then if that is it, I'm up a creek in two lbs if he continues to not like them.

So probably a combination seat, then. I'd go with whatever fit starting with Recaro, Frontier, Nautilus, and lastly the Maestro.

Yeah that sounds like the best plan.

Right now it's an "if I had the money I could" plan. ;) By the time I get the fundage, who knows what the other kids will be in.

I only put the Recaro first because I want to like it.:) I haven't seen it in person, and haven't read any comparions to the others at all.

I love the Frontier I do have, but I'm not sure it would install in that middle seat. I'd have to try it before I bought another. :)
