Radian vs scenera

I am looking at importing a scenera as a second seat, to save lugging my heavy radian and struggling with installs everytime we go in DH's or mums car.

Does anyone have any pics of height comparisons for RF? I'm more worried about it being outgrown in height before weight.

It will only be used RF, as I won't use a FF seat without a top tether.

Looking at the scenera for the price and ease of import from NZ.

I can get comparison pictures for you tomorrow if someone doesn't get to it first. I will say that out of my 4 daycare kiddos who are almost two or over two, 3/4 of them have already outgrown the scenera rear facing by height and still have loads of room in the radian.

2 is ok.. I just need it to get him to an age where I would be ok with FF (which is 2) and then I can put him FF in an Aussie seat. He is 13mths and already over the limits for RF in our seats.

Pics tomorrow would be great if you have time :)

The Scenera has a top tether. I couldn't tell from your post if you knew that or not. All US seats have top tethers. They have since 2001.

If it helps, the Scenera's shell is around 23" (58-59cms). That means you should have until the top of your son's head is around 22" (56 cm) seated height.

I don't actually own this seat, so I'm just going by the datatable. Someone please correct me if this is wrong.

Then someone cut it off, or it's tucked under the cover or something odd. All seats here have top tethers, and they all have LATCH connectors. The top tethers since 2001, the full LATCH since 2002.

The Scenera sold in NZ is the same as the US model & is definitely sold brand new here with the top tether attached for forward facing.

If your friend has a seat that she purchased brand new that is missing a top tether then she will need to contact the retailer & see about getting that sorted. If she purchased it 2nd hand, then the tether has been removed by a previous owner at some point & I would be very wary of the rest of the history of the seat that she isn't aware of either.

If she has any issues, I am happy for her to message me & see if I can help her out locally.

my daughter outgrew the scenera heightwise around 2 years 7 months which was about the same time as her radian arrrived she was also about 14.5kgs so 1.5kgs before she reached the weightlimit so not too bad
