Question Harness boosters... What do you think??

I told a friend of mine about the CowMoo Frontier coming out soon. She's obsessed with the pattern, and her 3yo has almost outgrown her MA. She's already pre-ordered the Frontier, but wants to get an extra harness seat for the grandparents' car. She talked to a tech and they suggested a Maestro, but neither she nor I (the most car seat-conscientious of our circle of friends) know anything about it. I just know from my own experience that I am simply not an Evenflo fan...

We did a bit of looking online and found all of the standards... Frontier, GN, ProSport, then Maestro. Her DH definitely doesn't want to buy 2 extra Frontiers, so is the Maestro a good one?

Yes :) The Maestro is a great lower cost harnessing booster combination seat. It has high top harness slots and offers a good fit for most kids booster wise. It is often recommended on this board especially for those who can't afford the Frontiers and Nautilus's. It's also a great price for a back up seat!

It does make a good booster for kids who haven't outgrown the harness. The headrest does not move, so the shoulderbelt quickly becomes too low after outgrowing the hight of the harness. Your friend should plan to buy a dedicated booster once the maestro is outgrown.

I have 2 of them for DH's car. He very rarely has the kids, sop it was a great cheaper solution for us! DD3 and 4 use them (stats in my siggy)

You said the little girl is exceptionally tall. Are her shoulders now at or over the top slots for the MA, or have the tops of her ears reached the top of the shell?
