How would you approach this?

Background: The woman I'm referring to is an old coworkers wife. She and I have never talked much, but we get along well when we do. She also is a advocate for EH and ERF so thats a plus :)

Today her facebook status read: "32 degrees means digging out the winter coats, having to adjust the carseat straps for winter coats and being late to school"

I know she values her kids safety in the car, and am nearly positive this is simply a case of her not knowing that heavy coats aren't ok... but I'm afraid I'm going to come off poorly. Should I address her individually or do a blanket "FYI" type status update? lol

I might send her a link to one of the threads here with the tricks for keeping warm in the car without loosening the straps, a thread that also explains why the straps should not be loosened. Along with a message something like "here, thought I might pass this along, you could save yourself the trouble of adjusting the straps".

Address her via a private message, not a wall post.

I wasn't going to to a wall post... I was thinking of maybe putting my status to something like "now that winter's coming up make sure your kids are still safe" with a link to a post from here. I do stuff like that periodically anyways for ERFing etc.

Good idea to link to here, saves me having to re-explain it... I swear, I have a brain :)

Someone on here has a FB album showing her DS wearing a winter coat and then a picture of him in the seat without the coat without adjusting the harness (showing that its way too loose) and pictures of the coat trick. If it were me and she was on FB quite often (so I was pretty sure she'd see it) I'd just post something like that.

I would probably just say something like, "You're always so careful with your kids in the car. I wasn't sure you had heard about this." And then add a link.
