Remove harness covers and pillow from MR at 40 lbs?

Do we know why? DD#4 will be riding in the MR FFing and she is 39 lbs. Would you remove the harness covers (she doesn't like the pillow anyway, so that's not a problem) now or wait until she gains a pound (fully clothed with shoes this morning she was 39.2 lbs)? I just can't imagine the harness covers making much of a difference once a kid hits 40 lbs? They aren't thick or anything and I can get the harness just as tight without them as I can with them on, but I'm assuming there is a reason they say they must be removed...

I took the harness covers off before 40lbs, but I will admit, the pillow is still there :eek:. 4yo is very attached to it, and since her head hardly even touches it, I couldn't see the harm in leaving it.

I took the pillow off right away since it messed up Elizabeth's hair and took the harness covers off when she started getting close to 40 lbs.
