Using an infant seat without the infant insert?

Can it be done with a newborn or is it going to affect how the baby fits?

I found a SR22 cover I *love* and it comes with everything but the infant insert. If Graco doesn't have them still available (it's an '07 or '08 model I believe), and I know I can't use an aftermarket infant insert, would it be OK to use it without one? Or should I pass on the cover if I can't get an infant insert to go with it.

Could I use a different SR's infant insert? Probably not, but I figured I'd ask...

I don't see anything wrong with using one from a different SR. Especially if the seat would have had one anyway.

For that matter though, I didn't really use dd's infant insert. I just bought a couple of cute blankets to keep her positioned correctly. ;)

Do SR22s have an infant insert that is more than just a headrest? I thought they were all rather lame head rests until the SR35.

Yeah, the SR22 insert is pretty useless IMO. Rolled towels give better support-- if the baby needs them, which many don't.

Once you have the seat numbers call Graco and see if you can get the insert if you really want one. I would think they still have them. I have two 08 SS1s and can still order thing for them.
