Edmonton Techs, do you ever...

Do you ever do a little presentation for a mommy group? Today at mommy group before we got started there was some conversation about car seats and I was hearing things about 6 month olds ffing and babies that I know are too big for their infant seats still in their infant seats and 3 year olds in boosters, etc.

Anyway I haven't asked the leaders yet if they would be interested in having a tech come (it isn't outside the realm of possibilities, we are having a plummer come to teach us how to fix basic pluming problems and our topic for this year is parenting issues), but I was wondering if any of you do something like that. It wouldn't be a check really just presentation (most of our presenters are around 45 minutes).

You can PM me if you are uncomfortable responding here.

I am in the middle of planning to do one monthly, or bi-monthly at Birth Source (more directed towards new moms). With a seat check to follow the week after each one (have to get the legalities and stuff about that figured out first).

I have done presentations for mom groups before, the last one being the Mommy Connections group.

You already have my email so feel free to talk to the leaders and then email me. 45 mins wouldn't be enough really to get all 3 stages in with enough detail and allow time for questions. When I did the rear-facing presentation at Mommy Connections it ran 40 mins. I've found that parents who already have kids ask more questions than those who are just expecting.

I'd say if it could be stretch to an hour then all 3 stages could get squished in. I can definitely think of areas to condense and booster stage is very simple to go over. So yeah, I think 1 hour is doable for all stages, but 45 mins wouldn't be enough.
