I. am. EXHAUSTED! :dizzy:We had our skills tests after lunch, so it was about 12:30 and hotter than you know what outside, even though we were in a covered parking garage!! By the time I finished I was so sweaty I was just dripping. It only makes me dread having to be in the heat tomorrow for the car seat check. Thankfully it is in the morning and is supposed to be over by noon.
Anyway, I cursed the Evenflo Titan Elite because you have to have toddler size hands to get the seatbelt through the belt path so I ended up gouging my wrist on the plastic and bled. I also fought with getting the seat compressed down enough so I could re-buckle the seat when I had to demonstrate that I could use a locking clip properly.
But the fun part was getting to work with seats I hadn't used before like the Chicco Key Fit and the Nautilus. I was happy that there were seats that I was very familiar with like a MA and a SS1.
Anyway, the day went great because I took the final written exam and got 100% on that one too so overall I got perfect scores on all the written exams.
We had to fill out evaluation forms about the course and the instructors. The instructors were great and the only suggestion I had was that when setting up the vehicles for the skills tests, if it's in the covered parking garage, to make sure that the cars are parked in a more lit area because I had a hard time seeing that the harness straps weren't routed through the correct slots because the straps were black and it was dark and hard to see where they were routed. I had to carefully feel them to see where they were routed even though they didn't want us to touch anything for fear that we'd end up "making" a misuse on something that wasn't before!
I'm glad I took the course and decided to do this. Now I just have to do the seat check tomorrow and then I will be official!
