Is a turbobooster an ok seat for all the time?

DS started complaining today that the straps on his RN are hurting his shoulders. Time for a booster. We have a turbo in DH's car that DS has ridden in for awhile now but I'm having a hard time thinking it's a acceptable all the time seat for him.

Please convince me it's ok. I want to buy a Parkway but DH said no more money on car seats.

Why would it not be acceptable? As long as it fits the belt and child properly (and the Turbo is very prone to work in almost every car, and fit most children) and the child is an appropriate age (your son is) and you use it properly (screws in, belt used correctly-- I'm sure you will) it's a safe choice. :) My daughter is in a Turbo on a nearly-full-time basis, and that's fine by me.

Of course it is. To quote Maedze...

the turbobooster is a war horse:love:

And Maedze, did you go and change the post you said that in? I was looking for it:)

A Turbo is fine for an everyday seat. Why wouldn't it be? Seats don't have to cost lots to work well. I'd take a Scenera, Maestro, Turbo, and/or Literider over some of the more expensive alternatives any day (assuming proper fit and use and etc.).

It's short-ish -- a kid who is already above the Radian shoulder straps may not have all that long in it, though. My 50"/62# child technically still fits but complains about it. She's a little bit complain-y in general, though: she's very sensory-sensitive and can't stand feeling at all cramped.

Yep. Up until recently when my 8yo outgrew the back on his, both my 8yo and 6yo were in HB Turbos. Now my 6yo is. I even have PWs as backup seats for dad's car but we use the TB for every day (it's pink you see).

Yes, however it's not going to last that long if your child is over the top slots in the radian. I thought ours would last longer but now ds is 48" tall and growing more every day.. I don't think it will last as long as I had planned and am nowhere near comfortable with a backless. So be aware it is not likely the only booster you will need.

Thank you :) I saw that the parkway was on sale so I bought him one LOL! DH wasn't thrilled but I can sell the RN he's in (his baby sister won't need it for several years and it doesn't fit RFing in my car anyway).

Thanks to Amazon Prime $3.99/item overnight shipping, it will be here tomorrow. Hopefully IT will be the last booster we need.
