is this safe?

So I'm tired of my almost 7yr old unbuckling the scenera next to her seat by mistake (and then I have to fix it). So today I put a baby sock around the seat belt buckle. Not touching the seat belt, just the plastic part, so that she can feel it when going to unbuckle and know that its not her seat belt. Is that safe? Or is there a better option?

Yep, it's safe. And if that doesn't work, take a paper towel cardboard roll cut and flatten to fit, and duct tape it around the buckle.

Yep. I have used aluminum foil wrapped around. It's impossible to push the button that way without unwrapping the aluminum foil, and yet, like the paper towel tube, it won't cause the button to depress in a crash.

Sounds fine to me! You can also take the part of the buckle that the seat belt buckles into and turn it around, that way the buckle is facing the inside of the baby's seat so your older child can't touch it. Does that make sense?
