Most reliable older cars?

In your opinion/experience, what is a good, reliable older vehicle (under $2500)? I found a 1996 Infiniti G20 for $1400 (great reliability ratings) and also a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante for $1600 (also great ratings). Are there any others I should look for?

Oh I would too if I could find one. The ones I have found on CL were either POS or all jacked up OR they had like 180k+ miles on them...ugh. And realistically, I only have MAYBE $2k to buy a car.

Ford Crown Vic, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car... You can get them very cheap on craigslist and they run forever, its common to have at least 200 to 300 thousand miles on the clock and they are cheap and easy to fix with plenty of parts. They also get great crash test ratings and have huge interiors.

I had a 1994 Diamante once. It is a beautiful and lux car, but it can have computer issues. If the computer goes, the car is toast.

I think-- buy a car from senior citizens.. they don't drive that much.

We bought 1991 Oldsmobile Supreme Cutlass for $1,500 in 2005 at approx 80K miles from a senior lady.

Four years later, it has dashboard problems to now, but my fiance, Matt, refuses to give it up and he wants to drive until it dies. He uses it for work.

We bought 2000 Dodge Stratus for $2,300 in 2009 at approx 91K miles. We replaced mounts, tires, and temperature.

The most pro... Matt used to work at a car dealership for 8 years so he can ask his friend to take a look over cars we are interested.

We're looking for a new car.. consider to sell Stratus but it will serves us more years than Oldsmobile so we have months to decide.

Matt said... as for older models, make sure you find a car that under 100K miles, it might serves you more longer.. and keep maintenance..
