ERF link and how to bring it up

Hi all,

I have a mommy friend with a 21 month old who has had her daughter FF since she hit the min. req. Over the last year we have become closer friends and she is aware of my passion for ERF. She recently asked for info about it to show her DH. I searched this forum and came up with this one...

"Why Rear-Facing Is So Important"

Wile I do think it is a good start, I know that I have seen links with more up to date info than this around here. Can you help me out?

Also, I often struggle with wanting to spread the word about ERF but not knowing how to talk to people who may not want to hear about it. I don't want to sound like a know it all or like I am telling them they are bad parents. How do you all bring these things up?, I feel like people just don't want to hear it and think it's just "my thing" to roll their eyes at.

And this is my new favorite video. Short, sweet, to the point, and not a tear jerker. Just the facts:)

I posted that animated video, and a friend asked me a question I had no answer for- The FF seat in the animation isn't tethered. Would that make a difference in the depiction of the crash? I told her I didn't really think so...

It would likely have reduced the distance the head and limbs traveled. A lot of European seats don't have tethers (or chest clips, that was a European video).

With a tether, the head and arms probably wouldn't go as far forward in the vehicle, but the child is still jerked around just as violently. The purpose of a tether is to reduce the chance the head strikes the vehicle interior (such as the seat in front).
