I noticed today that my just turned eight year old twins have outgrown the harness height in their Graco Nautilus carseats. They sit in the third row of our '06 Honda Odessy and I would like to keep them in that row as I need to help buckle the kids in the second row.
There are no latch connectors in the third row. Is it really ok not latch the Nautilus when used in high back booster mode??
That seat is SO heavy!!
I'm not worried about the seats becoming projectiles when the kids are not sitting in them as I plan to get the kids into the habit of strapping the seats in with a seat belt as soon as they get out of them.
But the seat weights 19.5 lbs.... the kids only weigh about 50lbs... isn't all that extra weight a concern in an accident?
Would it be safer to buy them lighter weight boosters since I can't latch the Nautilus boosters in my car? What would you do??
