Hi, I have a 2007 Chevy Colbalt and was just wondering what convertable car seats do and do not fit well in the car. It is a four door. My husband puts the seat back almost all the way so there isn't a whole lot of room. I'd appreciate it if along with how well it fits, if you could tell me how easy the car seat you are talking about is installed.

Thanks so much :)

Hi, the Cobalt is very similar to the Saturn ION - they're based on the same platform.

I had a snugride 22lb seat in the car for my son when we had the car. My husband was able to put his seat back all the way when the SR was installed in the center. I also had a MA installed rf'ing behind the passenger seat and it was fine - though it was for an older child, so was installed quite upright.

How old is your child and what does he/she weigh?

Does your husband ride as a passenger as much as a driver? You can always install the seat behind the passenger and then it won't interfere with the driver seat.

Lots of people tend to drive with their vehicle seats more reclined than needed, and passenger seats are typically reclined much more than needed. You'll find if you place the seat in a more upright position, that you can move the seat further back on the tracks without affecting the carseat, so it's something to consider.

We are looking for a few months down the road, my son is currently 5 months and 16 lbs. My husband does most of the driving and I am short so the passenger seat is usally not back too far lol
