Scenera 40

I was at Target today and they had the scenera 40, so I took some measurements. (I carry a measuring tape in my purse - actually I have 3 in there now.) I didn't have a camera, so no pictures. But for those who were wondering about measurements, here's what I got:

bottom harness slot: 7"
top harness slot" 14.75" (2 sets of slots between low and high, 4 sets total)
3 crotch strap positions: 4", 5", and 6.25" (approximately)
shell: 23"

The rearfacing height limits listed for the seat are 19-40", in case anyone is interested in that.

Ya, I have 1 as an extra for my daycare kiddos and really like it  My ds who is 40" tall has *just* outgrown it height wise but my 2y/o daycare kiddo still has loads of room

Yep.

Pretty sure that we came to the conclusion that it was the same shell/mold as the 35lb Scenera, they just increased the RF weight limit.

Wonder if someone could get a 35 and a 40 and try to figure out why the weight limit isn't retroactive

It's quite possible (or possibly probable) that if they appear the same it is just liability, however they also could have made changes that would be invisible to the average person. Like using a slightly different "recipe" for the plastic, or the metal, or the webbing, or whatever. And 'cuz no one wants their child to be the crash dummy that proves or disproves that hypothesis, it's probably best to go by stated limits :p .

Oh I wouldn't dream of using a 35 over the weight limit.... just wondering if anyone's disassembled, naked-ized, and compared?
