Best way to clean harness straps in an MA?

When we installed Elena's new MA, we took Olivia's out. And since I have it out, I want to give it a thorough cleaning. What is the best way to clean the harness straps and how do I remove the crotch strap for cleaning as well?

Just wipe the straps with water and if they need it, a mild soap. Do not immerse the harness straps in water. For the crotch buckle, there is a metal piece holding it underneath. Twist the metal so it fits through the slit in the seat and wiggle it out. You may run water into the buckle to remove gunk. Don't worry if the webbing gets wet when you do this, since there is absolutely no way to not get it wet.

I personally use alcohol free baby wipes to wipe down my straps, or a wash cloth dipped in soapy water and then I rinse with a wet washcloth to remove any soapy residue. HTH

It seems like I had a tech tell me before I could take my straps and put them in a bowl with oxy clean, rinse and then air dry.... can I *not* do that?

Nope, no soaking of any harness straps. Check your manual, there is a section towards the end on how to clean harnesses. IIRC, it says to wipe with a damp cloth and that's it. No bowls of water and no oxyclean, unfortunately, since I am sure that would make the harness sparkle, but it may affect the harnesses ability to do it's job.
