I want skinny little children - where do I get those?

My 6 month old 20+ lb daughter has mostly outgrown her Snugride 22 and after a week I am already tired of getting her in and out of her Marathon all the time. And my 3 year old just passed 36 lbs. We have good friends with a one year old that still fits in her Snugride22 (I did a double take because I couldn't believe it, but sure enough she still fits and only weighs 18lbs) and their 3 year old only weighs 30 lbs.

Where can I get these small children? :)

Right here! I have one of them. My DD was 18lbs (or 17?) at a year, 23lbs at age 2 and now at age 4, she tips the scales at a whopping 29lbs.

She's not short though! She's at the top of the charts for height, so she still outgrows everything early even though she has oodles of weight room left. :p

I wish :p The baby just hit her 6 month growth spurt and has been eating every 2 hours all day and all night for 4 days! I am exhausted :)

Be careful what you wish for - it's not fun having some newly-graduated nurse practitioner telling you that you must be starving your baby because he's low on the growth chart.

Purely from a carseat perspective, though, small kids would be great! :)

You can take mine! He is 26months, 23lbs and 33in head-to-toe. He's so small he's under the charts at the DR office.

I keep wondering the same thing... my 14 mos old is 27 lbs/33 inches and my 28 mos old is 33 lbs/37 inches...

Mine are skinny and small. I have to say, it rocks.

I was hanging out with Rachel this morning, and it was so funny how much difference in size there is between T2 and Laine, and less than three months. Laine's about 18 pounds and 29", and is just at the point now at 11.5 months where if I had a SR22 I'd be looking at another seat. She's got about 1.5" above her head.

haha, exactly, i agree!! my son has been LUCKY to be in the 12% for his weight [and height too] at one point we'd actually dropped into just the 2% for weight. it has been a ongoing battle to get him to gain ANY weight [even since birth, he left the hospital at 6,4 and gained nothing at his 2wk, 1 m and 6wk check up], at 2yr 4m, he is BARELY 25 pounds. he wears 18m clothes because 24m and 2t are too big on him.

but i have no doubt that [once i get his my ride] he'll be RF to booster age!

my daughter on the other hand is currently wearing 2T at only 15.5 months old. She may not make it to booster age RFing :)

I've often wanted a small skinny child...now I have one and the worry about the slow weight gain is NOT fun. The other 2 are mooses though! The baby, well, at 6 weeks old is only 8oz over her birth weight. She still swims in newborn clothes and grows only legs...chicken legs. :)

I have one of those, he is 1 yr old, 19 lbs and 29.5 inches long. I just put the straps up to the 2nd slots on his SS1 and he isn't even close to the 2nd slots on his Marathon. He is in the 34th percentile for height and the 3rd for weight.

My friends little guy though is only 10 days older and he weighs 25 lbs 10 ozs and is 32 inches long.

I have one of each too! My oldest JUST had a growth spurt and he's 33lbs at 3y11m old.

My youngest was 23lbs at 1y IIRC... and he's 30+lbs now at 2y2m.

DD is small for her age, and DS is even smaller for his age. Not so great when you talk to the doctor, but great for getting your money's worth out of clothes and car seats!

I have a bunch of them and it is great, until they hit about 10-12 years of age. (or so I am projecting) My poor kids will be in boosters years longer than all their peers and then I'll have to let them go without even when they don't pass the 5 step test. If the grow to my proportions, they will likely never pass the 5 step test. It would be nicer to have my kid pass the 5 step test at about 9-10 years of age, so they could ride in friends' vehicles without boosters.

I think the SAME thing about Nicholas. He will RF till booster age because he has so much room in the MyRide. My mom was bugging me about it the other day and asking when I will flip him around, so it's easier to get to him. I told her I was just gonna keep him RF till it was time for him to learn to drive. ;)

Yeah, I also breed small kids.

Jordan just turned 6 and is 36 pounds and 42 inches.

I'm not sure how much my 3 month old weighs, but he seems pretty similar to Jordan at the same age....though, it seems that he may have a longer torso.

That be said, I still have to get him in and out of his convertible. We decided to skip the infant seat altogether.
