Just a "why" question...

So for Christmas we go DS a Joovy toy booster seat. It's been in the box in the living room for a few days and I decided today to open it up. I was reading the manual for it and they state if the doll seat is in an accident it must be disregarded. All I could think of is ...."Really it's for toys not a real child. Why must I throw it away if it's in an accident?"

It could have broken pieces your child could choke or otherwise be injured on, even if it looks fine. They have to instruct you to discard it to avoid liability.

Would I discard it? Depends on how severe the accident was. But if I were selling a toy car seat to be used in a vehicle, you can bet I would put that disclaimer on it.

And I don't believe it's a toy booster seats (booster position the seat belt) but rather a toy harness seat :) .

The box actually calls it "Just like Mine! Doll or Stuffed Toy Booster Car Seat"

But yeah I didn't think about the liablity of it. I can understand the "Do not use for a real child warning, but the distroy if in an accident just seemed strange. We are mostly going to use the seat for DS's Powerwheels he has. I know he's a baby but it was a hand-me-down from my cousin who's boys don't play with it anymore. DH is going to put "D" hooks on the passenger's side to latch it in.

I'm confused.. so you are going to use it for a 'real baby'? to hold him in the lil' power wheels toy?

I think she means that she's going to use it in the Powerwheels toy for a stuffed animal or doll when her DS is big enough to drive the Powerwheels. So his teddy or whatever can drive with him. I'm sure she's not actually going to put a child in the toy booster seat. Cute idea:D

Yeah it's going in the powerwheels for his toys not for him when he's big enough. We also got him a dolly for Christmas. I buy presents early and I was sitting in the living room after it was delivered taunting me to open it. I had to check it out.
