LATCH in center okay?

Does anyone know if LATCH can be used in the center with:

Britax Marathon and a Saab Wagon?

I remember Britax said it was okay if the LATCH anchors were no more than so many inches apart, but I can't remember the magic number. I thought they said 20, but that seems sort of far.

Probably not-

Unless Saab also specifically allows this, it is probably better to use the seatbelt for installation in the center.

If the seatbelt does not result in a correct installation, then you have a "tough choice." It may well be safer to use LATCH with those inner anchors in the center rather than installing it outboard. Even so, if the auto manufacturer does not allow it, you'd be doing so at your own risk. Also:

I verified with Britax this morning that the center latch can be used as long as the anchors are not wider than 20 inches. I will also check with Saab to be sure it's safe. Otherwise I will use the seatbelt.
