Okay, I am confused. I don't understand WHAT this person is talking about...

No matter what type of seat you purchase, and there are many, consider how much you can spend. If expense is a concern a convertible travel system maybe in order. A rear-facing car seat can be used as a front facing car seat until the appropriate age. There is a base that remains in the car. The infant/toddler car seat then can be attached to a stroller frame and later it can reattach to the base that’s in the car. Check out your options and consider what will be best as far as expenses are concerned. Do your research and determine what will be best for you and your child. Always, the first concern should be the safety of your baby from day one.

A seat with a base that can be used RF and then FF? A infant/toddler seat that can be attached to a stroller frame?

I SAW a seat like that!!!

It had a round base that was left in the car and an infant seat or toddler (yep a convertible) seat could fit in, then the same round base type thing was the stroller and you could move the carseat to the stroller.

I'm going to google to see if I can find it again.

yeah that would be the Orbit, but I dont think they have released the toddler seat yet.
But it is 2 different seats, one infant and one toddler... not an infant that can forward face...

hmmm looks like they released the toddler stroller seat and scrapped the toddler carseat part of the deal. For a long time they were expecting it, but I guess they couldnt get a detachable rotating 40lbs seat to pass

Even if they were talking about the orbit I thought the whole point of the post was that it was cost effective. Isn't the orbit travel system with just the infant seat like $900? You could go out and buy the most expensive infant and covertible and they still not cost that much.
