Idiot proof/resistant?

My little girl is 11 months, 29 inches, and 21 lbs. A pretty standard sized kid. I just ordered the new britax boulevard 70 cs for my compact car. I tried it out at bru and got a rock solid RF instal VERY easily. Well, my problem is that thing is a beast! It probably weighs a thousand pounds. We travel quiet a bit, so I really don't feel like lugging it around airports and such. Also, my husband has a big ol' dodge pickup. I would like a second carseat that I can use in his truck (very rarely), and for travel. The combi coccaro seems to fit the bill. I'm just worried it's really hard to instal properly in different vehicles. I'm not in love with the $200. price tag, but I'm willing to spend $ for convenience. Am I on the right track, or is there another seat I should consider? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The Cocorro is a great seat, but it is small, so it won't last all that much longer and certainly won't be the last rear-facing seat you will need.

I would try installing a Sunshine Kids Radian (65SL, 80SL, or XTSL). In some vehicles (mine included), the Radian installs SUPER-easily. In other vehicles, it is a bear to install. I am not sure how it installs in the Ram truck.

The Radian is a very narrow (but HEAVY) seat with low sides that folds for travel. It is SUPER heavy, but carrying straps can be attached to make the seat into a backpack when traveling. :)

It might also be worth looking into the Safety First Complete Air or the Evenflo Symphony. Those are both fairly compact seats (compared with the other beasts on the market, that is!).

You may want to take a look at the Safety 1st Avenue too (there have been some smokin' deals on it lately too.) It's relatively lightweight, but may require pool noodles/a towel to install properly. :)
