I can only assume the straps were damp before mailing. Any other ideas?

 How long did it take to ship? Does the sender know? I can't imagine it'd get like that in just a few days.

Is it on the rest of the harness, that hidden by the cover?

Five days and then it sat in my MIL's airconditioned house for 3 days until we got there. I have contacted the seller and hope to hear back from her soon.

I have shipped oddles of seats and stored them in my house in their boxes and never had this happen.

I once bought an infant seat at a yard sale. It was sitting in a plastic garbage bag (for storage of course). It's straps liked like that. :(

Is the cover ok? Because, I um, need one.

That sucks about the straps. Totally weird. Will be watching this thread to see how it all works out.

Box is dry and shows no water damage inside or out. It was taped up and didn't look like it had been opened and retaped.

The reason I thought of damp starps is because Melniemi told me that this happened once to her as the seller and she thought the staps hadn't dried all the way after she wiped them before shipping. So far as I can tell its mainly on the starps.

Ummm, I don't know. Bleach might work but the smell is horrifically strong and there are spots on the silver parts.

:eek: Not really what you needed this weekend, is it?

Yeah, I know. Of all weekends...it just seems like everything I touch goes wrong lately. :(

washed the cover and the strap covers... air dried, every thing felt dry when i put it back on.. i guess the wetness was hidden by the type of fabric? i am so sorry Arly, this totally sucks for us both.
