Picking out a booster

I now have a seat to use at BRU toward a booster for DS. I don't even know where to start. We would probably not use it until DS1 turns five. I'm thinking of a parkway sg. I'd like to get something that isn't huge but that provides good protection. I'd like something latchable though. Any thoughts? Which seats tends to fit the most children well as I'm sure I'll be using it other children who ride in my car eventually.

I LOVE my Parkway SG even though it isn't LATCHable. I just be sure to keep it belted in. No big deal. :)

The Parkway SG puzzles well next to my other seats, fits beautifully in my car (Honda Civic), and fits all the kids I have used it for (9 yo, 7 yo, 5 yo, 4 yo). (Disclaimer: Neither the 5 yo nor 4 yo actually rode in it. They were in it for fit only!)

Is there a safety benefit to having a latchable booster... while the child is in it?

What is a reasonable booster age in your opinion? DS is tall... 90th percentile for his height... can't remember exact height at 46 lbs. I'm thinking of waiting 6 more months to start training him.

I am not sure about the safety benefits of a LATCHable booster. I'll let a tech or a more knowledgeable person address that one.

I think there are pros and cons of booster training at a younger age. Does he EVER ride with someone else? Is there any possibility that you would need him to carpool with someone?

I don't think it is a bad idea AT ALL to booster train a 4.5 or 5 yo. I would prefer to see a child that age harnessed most (if not all) of the time, but booster training so a booster can be used if necessary is definitely not a bad idea.

He does ride with my parents when they visit or when we visit. It would be nice to not have to move my frontier each time.

We do carpool but he is in a RNXT that I provide and install. I don't think any other seat will work bc my friend has two FFing MA's outboard.
He might occasionally ride with another friend and a booster would be perfect for that. (since she has her 4 year old in a nbb:(). I'd have ton see if shed buckle DS1 in properly first.
