The infant seat that wouldn't come out of the base (combi shuttle)

So I installed it tonight and it was easy. Oh, but wait..

And then I tried to get it out of the base and couldn't. Tried again, couldn't. DH finally got it but it took him a good 10 minutes. You're supposed to squeeze the release handle on the back of the seat and lift up on the seat to make it come out of the base, but I wasn't able to do it, and I think I sprained my wrist.

Anyone have experience with this seat--will it loosen up, did I get a defective one, or should I hire Chuck Norris for a few months?

Thanks in advance.

Not the same seat, but similar...

My Centre DX behaved the same way. For the whole 12 weeks I was able to use it before it was recalled for seat-to-base seperation in crash testing. Ironic, eh?

The combi shuttle 22 I had was sticky like that. The left side stayed in the base and was impossible to undo. Finally I had enough and called customer service. I destroyed the old seat and they sent a replacement seat which works like a dream. Definately call them.
