Rear-facing height on the Scenera? My friend has one for her little girl, and has her forward-facing right now (at almost 3) but wants to turn her back around. She can install it rear-facing but wondered if it was even an option still. Her little girl is around 35 inches tall. I told her the only way she would even know for sure was to try it out. She only weighs 28lbs, which is why she is considering the option. We chatted some more and she said that IF she can't turn her back around, then she is thinking about getting her a different seat. I asked her why and she said b/c she is looking for something with a higher height limit b/c she doesn't want her to outgrow the seat anytime soon (and she rides in a Nautilus in her dad's car). I suggested that maybe she look into getting a Nautilus for her car, since her DD fits nicely in it, but she said she also wanted some other choices in case it wouldn't work in her car (middle seat of a kia spectra, but there has to be enough room for her son's booster on either side, doesn't matter which).

Also while I think about it, is there a minimum height requirement on the Nautilus? My sister is thinking of getting one for my nephew b/c she hates the MyRide forward facing, but I didn't know how well it would fit a 18 month old (I've wasted my breath on her trying to get him RF again, he RF's in my car, LOL! BUT she insists he is happier FF) So she's looking for a seat, and she likes the Nautilus in my van. Is there a better option for him (about 36 inches tall and 30ish pounds, he's a big boy!) for less than $200?

Doh. Sorry. Was rushing by the computer and just glanced. The Scenera lists rearfacing up until 36".

I'd dig out my Nauti manual, but it's in the space under the seat and I can't get to it without uninstalling it and I just put it in this morning. ;)

The nautilus has a 27" minimum height requirement (for the harness).

As for your nephew, if she is going to have him forward facing no matter what, then the nautilus is probably the best bet for under $200. If she wants a less expensive option then the Evenflo Maestro is a possibility (about $80). If she can wait another 6 months (and save up some more money), then the Britax Frontier 85 is great for big kids because the harness adjusts up higher than either the nautilus or the maestro. (It does have a minimum age of 2.) If my kid were as big as hers, I'd want a frontier 85 for sure.

The 1" above the head is the important number, not the overall height, just so she knows.
