Question about locking seatbelts

so I've been letting my 5yr old booster and I've been letting her put her own seat belt on (I ALWAYS check it, b/c she's only ridden in it a few times). Problem is, I usually have to unlock the seat belt, b/c I guess she pulls on it to hard or something and it ends up locking. How can I teach her how to pull on her seat belt when putting it on and NOT lock it. While I don't mind climbing into the back of my van, taking out the booster, fixing the seat belt, and then putting it back in and helping her by gently pulling the seat belt out, I don't think the parents in the school pick up line are going to appreciate it... And I WILL NOT leave the line if my child is not restrained properly. Thoughts?

Have you mentioned it to her? Piper knows how belts lock, so when she moved to a booster full time I told her not to lock the belt, and she's far more careful about it now.

I think she just needs more practice. Try a "practice session" sitting in the driveway, buckling and unbuckling a lot.
