WTH, Combi? Bad advice RE: crash replacement

Insurance is giving me the run-around about replacing the seats. They don't want to replace since they were not occupied at the time of the crash. I am copying the pages from the manuals stating they have to be replaced, but I thought I would also call each of the manufacturers and see if they could fax my insurance company a statement saying their rules for replacement.

Britax just told me to print the NHTSA rules which obviously don't specify that the seats have to be occupied to be replaced.

Combi says "we defer to the insurance company, and if they feel like they should replace it, they will. If they feel like it was not a severe enough crash that warranted replacement, we support that decision.":eek::eek::mad::mad::mad:

Well, that is simply disappointing!

BTW, how did the seats do installation wise... anything crazy? I still believe there was enough force to replace - just curios what they or the installs looked like to the naked eye.

I just glanced in the back seat, but they looked exactly the same. I need to pull them out and check them for stress marks, but I had to leave them in the car until the adjuster can see them.

not to sound mean or anything, but good luck with combi. i tried for weeks just to get a call back about using the belt below the rfing belt slot. i left numerous messages for dustin and tried calling daily to speak with him. never received a call or anything back from ANYONE at combi. out of all the baby gear customer service teams, combi has been the worse in my experience.

the only thing that i was told by one of the combi reps was to go to a fire department and see if they think my installation is safe. seriously?!??!:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
