Insurance is giving me the run-around about replacing the seats. They don't want to replace since they were not occupied at the time of the crash. I am copying the pages from the manuals stating they have to be replaced, but I thought I would also call each of the manufacturers and see if they could fax my insurance company a statement saying their rules for replacement.
Britax just told me to print the NHTSA rules which obviously don't specify that the seats have to be occupied to be replaced.
Combi says "we defer to the insurance company, and if they feel like they should replace it, they will. If they feel like it was not a severe enough crash that warranted replacement, we support that decision."
