Went to try out carseats and no more Frontier 85's are left. New design of Frontiers will not be able until end of Sept or so. The sales person said they will be more rounded.

I went to try out the Frontier 85 today and the sales person told me they sold their last one a couple of days ago and they are being redesigned. The new ones will not be available until the end of Sept or so. She said they will be more round.

I think that sales person may have been confused. The Marathon 70 is more round. But the Frontier 85 should just be getting new covers.

It was at a baby speciality store. They are the only one who carries, Britax, radian, etc. I tried the Frontier 85 there a few months back for my son but ended buying the Monterey. She said they did not have anymore Frontier 85s right now because the are being redesigned and expect the new ones to arrive the end of Sept or so. The only thing she said that they would be more round. She def could have got them mixed up. She knew zero about carseats. I had to read the manual to find out how to install the radian.

That would be very odd for Britax to be redesigning the 85 already... I know that they are releasing new covers in late Sept to October and that better be it because if they have changed it so that the covers won't fit the 85's now I'll be so freaking mad! I'll denounce Britax forever, okay maybe not but it will keep me from buying a britax booster in the future (since I'm done for convertibles and combos)

I am def going to call the store in the morning and ask the manager. Surely the girl got her facts wrong. If they were going to redesign the seat so quickly it would make one think the old ones were not safe enough.

According to Britax CS, the only thing new happening to the FR85 is the pattern changes and they will be available in September.

Thanks for calling. The specialty store sales person must have been confused by the convertible redesign.

Maybe the FR85 will have covers with circles? That would be more round

Salespeople are rarely trustworthy when it comes to news of new seats (except for the ones who post here, usually they go to new product conferences and post pictures of products to come, keep an eye out for the ABC Expo news postings in September :))

Yep, the salesperson go it wrong!!!! You would think working in a small baby speciality store they would pass along correct info.
