Would this concern you..

or would you not care? I opened my RA50 to install it for baby since he's about 1/2" from outgrowing his KF. As I was opening it, I noticed the bottom of the box was all taped up so I wanted to look at the base of the seat to make sure it hadn't fallen through or something.

The seat appears to be in new condition, reg card still attached, but on the bottom of the base there are a couple 'rub' marks across the bottom. It almost looks like the grip strips on the ma were put on and pulled off - leaving a little residue and slight markings. The edges of the base are dirty in a couple spots, not horribly so, but not the same color as the rest.

So, would you use it like that? I called Britax, they told me the RA50 does not have the grip strips on the base and if the markings concern me, to return it to the store. If I hadn't noticed the taped box, I wouldn't have even really looked, or not examined.

WWYD?

The box was taped? I vote return it. It's probably completely safe, and I wouldn't feel guilty that the next kid who owns it is in danger, but you're a discriminating consumer and deserve brand spankin' new, IMO :)

That's my gut feeling too.....so much for my clearanced seat, lol. When I had finally said, "screw it, I'll use what I have and quit thinking about seats."

So now what? What do I buy and for who? B has about an inch of growing room rfing in her ma, is 3y7m, 28#s.

Mmmm mmmmm, nuh uh, no way, don't make ME decide :D.

LOL, just kidding, I know you're just throwing the question out there. Too many new seats for me to know!

What do you have as spares? Do you want to keep her RF?

I might buy something tall -- CA or TF -- and then pass it to A when he outgrows the KF. Then get her a combo seat, or -- give her the frontier and get S a booster. Yes, I think that's what I'd do.

:pAh, come on Jools! wwy buy?

I have no spares. I might be trading my frontier for a TFP, getting S a FR85, giving B the TFP and giving baby the ma.

I have no spares, not a one:eek::)

I am in awe of your ability to live without trading seats in and out like a madwoman. Even the family whose kids I watch who refuses to booster their kids has spares, lol!

That plan sounds like a good one. TF was honestly my first thought, as long as you don't need it narrow for a 3-across.

I've done my fair share of trading in and out seats! Really, lol. I'm trying to be smart about things now but I do want a BV70 and I want a new Cow Frontier85. Probably should just get a TFP and keep what else I have...sigh

I think the Nauti would give her headslump, the XTSL did rearfacing. I think a Frontier would work well. I plopped her in it last time I rearranged seats and it seemed reclined enough. S has never had headslump in hers.

I'm torn - rf B longer or eek out every moment in my 2 current seats, then turn B ffing in a Frontier and pass the ma to baby.
