We have a cargo that is sitting in my mom's basement waiting for me to get off my lazy bum and list for sale. Today, while I was doing laundry, I had the baby with me. He started crawling this weekend and just wouldn't stay put! So I dragged the seat over and strapped him in. Perfect containment!
When I looked over and saw how tiny and ridiculous he looked in the seat, I started thinking about how seat manufacturers perpetuate the myth that 20 pound babies can sit in a ffing seat. They make the slots way too low! My 8 month old, 21 pound, 28-29 inch baby is right at the lowest slots. If I were to put him in this seat at a year (which he won't and which is the reason we are selling it, since he won't be able to use it for another 2 years, hopefully), he would already need the second slots. If they just put the top slots in, babies would look ridiculous and parents may think of other ways to secure their babies, ie rfing in another seat.
Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts on why more kids are ffing than should be.
