It's actually , frontal, around 70, rear around 23, side around 7, if i remember correctly.

However, despite the fact that at 7% side impacts are the most infrequent, they count for 30% of fatalities. So they are by far the most deadly.

Do you have a link or article to show for it (in a argument with someone and she is saying rear end collisions happen 90+ % of the time)....

I suck at the googling appararently

I believe the info is in the tech manual, which is available online at the CPS Board website...

Also, comparatively, rear end crashes tend to happen at much lower speeds than front and side impacts. I think KQ is right about the location of the information but I can't remember

I tried to find stats like this earlier this summer and was unable to find them in the CPS manual. All it had (IIRC) was the general "frontal are most common and side are most dangerous." I didn't really find anything firm when I searched around online either. Good luck!

Yeah, that is the problem I'm having right now, finding the stats....

well someone might get rear-ended but 50% of that crash (other car is frontal)

I wonder how "fender-benders" play into crash statistics

Statistics take into account the one car. There are many more things a car can drive into than the back of another car, so the rate of frontal impacts is much higher than rear ones.
