Aveo and seat help/suggestions

Hi, I was recently in a rear-end collision and insurance is paying to replace our car seats. :D We are a single car family currently driving a 2006 Aveo sedan. DS (almost 5, 52 lbs and 46" tall) was FF in a Radian Premier and DD (18 months, 27 lbs and 34" tall) RF in an older Alpha Omega (it was a gift and not yet expired).

On recommendations from local moms, we are replacing the Radian with a Britax Frontier XL. I'm very happy with that purchase as we are using it in the rental/borrowed car until we find out what is happening with our Aveo. For DD's seat, a True Fit has been recommended (same price point as the OA). Do you think that the Frontier and a True Fit would work in an Aveo (not side by side)? With the Alpha O we had DD in the rear passanger side with a pool noodle piramid to get the correct angle. The front passegner seat had to be quite upright and forward to fit the seat in correctly.

Sadly, our rear door is currently inoperable so we can not purchase DD's seat and test it in our car until the repairs take place. There is also a chance that our car may be written off and we will have to purchase a new one.

Any other suggestions on a car seat for DD that costs approx $200 Cdn?
Any experience with a True Fit in an Aveo?

Thanks!
Michele (Winnipeg, MB)

Sorry to hear about your car, we have an Aveo hatchback. I haven't used a TrueFit but I have installed Evenflo Titan, Britax Marathon, and a Graco ComfortSport rear facing and they were pretty easy to install. I'm not familiar with Canadian seat price points so I hope someone will chime in soon.

I think a True Fit would be a good option. They install quite upright RFing. Another to consider might be the Safety First Complete Air but that's a little more money ($269ish).
