Car seat for Honda Civic Coupe?

    Hi,

I am looking for a car seat to suit a newborn, however my husband and I both own Honda Civic Coupes (2004 and 2009). The 2009 model is the one driven the majority of time.

Since both are two door models, are there certain infant seat models that would or would not fit?

    Thanks in advance!!

Re: Car seat for Honda Civic Coupe?

I have a four-door 2006 Civic (same body as the 2009) and am able to fit LOTS of seats in my vehicle.

I know for a fact that the following seats fit BEAUTIFULLY in the Civic:

    INFANT SEATS
    ~ Chicco KeyFit
    ~ First Years Via
    ~ Graco Snugride
    ~ Britax Companion

    CONVERTIBLE SEATS
    ~ Sunshine Kids Radian
~ Britax Boulevard/Marathon (but this seat doesn't work well for newborns)
    ~ First Years True Fit
    ~ Cosco Scenera

The Sunshine Kids Radian might not work for you RF. DH has a 2010 Civic Coupe. The passenger's seat must be all the way up for the Radian to fit. I've actually done this without a front seat passenger. I'm not sure that you'd be able to get the Radian in the middle. The coupe has a bump in the middle instead of the nice flat seat in the 4 door. I haven't personally tried it, but that bump seems too narrow to be able to get the car seat on well.

I know the First Years True Fit will fit well rear facing in the older model Civic Coups.

with a two door it will prob be a lot easier to get an infant bucket seat. I can barely buckle my DD in two door cars unless I climb in the backseat with her which is a PITA to do EVERY time. So I would use a bucket as long as you can so you can buckle outside and plop the seat in lol

The Radian fits FABULOUSLY in the Civic without the seat being all the way up.

This was with the driver's seat almost all the way back:

While the middle is preferable if a good installation can be accomplished, an outboard installation is fine if that is where the best installation can be accomplished.

I installed my Radian XT behind the driver's seat of my friend's 08 Civic Coupe and it worked fabulously. We just accessed the back seat from the passenger side and then scooted over.
