I have a friend who desperately needs seats for her 3 and 5 year old.
And as we are in the DFW area I thought we could go check out the KIM check up event - plus I need to stuff for the baby and always can use an excuse to go to Lone Star Baby
She had them in expired OHS - until I saw them and in the nicest possible way demanded that she hand them over right then and there. they are still sitting in my garage waiting for me to take them to be recycled
She is currently using my Complete Air and GN for them - which is fine for a temp fix to get them out of the old seats but I would like my seats back and she needs her own seats.
I have directed her to Maestros - but their budget doesn't have new seats in it this month or possible next month especially with back to school costs.
The 3 year old is 37lbs not sure of height - but was on the top slot of my scenera which is why I gave her the CA.
The 5 year old is 39lb probably about 43" who is NOT mature enough to be in a booster which is why she had him the OHS because he was getting out and climbing around the car
she also has a 6 year old in a LBB
So the regular seat checkes around here with chases and big kids probably isn't going to do her much good.
Does anyone know if the manufacturers are donating seats for the event for families that need them? and if so any rumors on what they might be?
i tried calling the number on the flyer for an appointment and the girl that answered the phone didn't even seem to know what I was talking about to make the appointment - much less be able to tell me more about the event. I am waiting for a call back.
