Evenflo expiration question

I bought an Evenflo Triumph LX today ($27.99 at Kmart! I am thrilled!). The DOM is 2/18/10 and it says the expiration date is 2/18/18. Is that right? They have an 8 year lifespan? I thought evenflo seats were 6 years.

The symphony has an 8 year expiration (thought it was Dec of the year, not the actual mfg month though). Maybe the newer evenflo seats are being redesigned with the 8 year expiration. So your seat doesn't mention anything about "Dec of xxx year", but 2/18/18 for the expiration?

I'm pretty sure that's what the sticker on the seat said. I'll go back out and check ASAP (its raining now).

Well, the dates are a little off. The DOM is 2/10/10 and it says the expiration is 2/8/18. Here is a picture

Interesting, 8 years for a Triumph. It also makes one wonder if that two calendar day difference between Feb. 10th and Feb. 8th is from taking into account the two additional days in upcoming leap years in 2012 and 2016? :) Talk about being precise if that's the case, and unusually so for Evenflo, who has been known in the past for having oddly stamped calendar year expiration dates where the date stamp didn't get changed after a new calendar year began or for other seemingly inexplicable reasons.

my maestros are 8 years and is stamped so in the shell DOM 12/3/09 and 12/4/09... I saw a Maestro at target the other day on clearance that was DOM 3/10 that said right on the sticker (looked like above) that says expires on 3/2016... so why 6 years when mine is 8???

The last several Evenflos (Titan Elites) I've done have had the eight years minus two days.

Evenflo's are steadily becoming More Bang for Your Buck seats.

Now it is just time they added a lower harness slot to the Discovery5's (is that the cheapest one currently out, like at Walmart always on sale?)

OT: Anyone ever test out that new infant seat Evenflo put out? Serenade? How'd that do? Such a pretty purple cover...

Yeah, but with the handle required to be down AND 1.5" of clearance between it and the front seats, it doesn't matter how low the bottom slots are. It doesn't fit in most cars. Same with the Serenade.

Darn. Gave 'em the benefit of the doubt that said issue had been...redesigned.
