I emailed Graco regarding using the GN as a booster with latch. This was their reply.

'First to reply to your question using the LATCH. It is rated to 48 lbs. However you do want to consult with the owner's manual to your car as not all the posts that the connectors attach to are rated that high. The owner's manual regarding the use of a tether state with out a harness to use the vehicle lap shoulder belt only.'

I thought you could use latch in booster mode with the GN. Is that not so?

I don't think they addressed your question. You probably need to call and explain what you mean by "latchable booster" and reference the monterey or olli. That you understand to restraint the child in booster mode, you need the lap shoulder belt but to keep the seat in place when not in use/or just in position while kid is climbing in, can you use the latch.

Their e-mails are quite vague and indirect.

Search the board, Graco is VERY confused on this issue, but I believe we finally did get a "yes, it is okay."

For now anyway. ;)

They've gone back and forth on their answer, and for now, they are saying that yes, you can LATCH the GN in booster mode.

Does that include the top tether? Could I use only the top tether in the position that has it with no lower anchors?

They're saying as a harnessed seat, stop using LATCH no later than 48 pounds, but consult your car if it's before that.

For booster, you can use LATCH to 100 pounds. The LATCH isn't holding in anything but the seat. The seatbelt is holding your child's weight.
