Tired of my weird car seat issues yet?

I noticed today when putting CJ in the Scenera that the continuous harness wasn't sliding very easily underneath. Later I checked it out and it appears that with the foot slipped in the correct position for rear facing, it kinda squeezes the harness between the foot and the shell of the seat.

I don't think it's a safety issue, but it sure makes it a pain to adjust. I also worry that pulling the harness through there may cause it to fray. I'll have to keep a close eye on it.

What do you think?

I have never used the scenera so I am not familiar with how that rearfacing foot interacts with the harness. They way you describe it does sound like it might cause fraying if it really does stick when tightened. It might be worth a call to Dorel to see what they say. Maybe someone else here with the scenera can look at their seat and see if it was an issue with their seat as well.

Before putting the recline foot back make sure the harness isn't under it. Do you have a newer scenera? I bought a scenera back in '07 that has the pointy knobs. They poked holes in the harness. Dorel sent me a new thicker harness so that doesn't happen. Since it's stiffer it makes it really hard to tighten/buckle. Neither of those harness straps are frayed though.

It's newer. No spikes. I'll get pics now.

Here's where the harness sits naturally.

When I put the foot down, it looks like this. See it barely peeking out?

And here's what happens if I pull it in front of the foot. When I tighten the harness it rubs really bad and starts pulling back under it. Not to mention that it leaves slack in the belt.
