Retrofitting ISOFIX Brackets in the UK?

Having been looking at baby-seats, I was disappointed to find that my car (A 2007 3-door Ford Fiesta) does not seem to have ISOFIX brackets.

Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to have these retrofitted, and, if so, where?

Many thanks.

It's normally easy and inexpensive to retrofit Isofix in most cars. Isofix connectors in rear seat for a Volvo does fore example cost €20, it's a 5 minute job so labor can't be much either.

Since your Ford is fairly new it should not be a problem with Isofix connectors. Please call your local Ford dealer.

It's rather odd that a 2007 vehicle wouldn't have it. Have you checked your vehicle owner manual in the child restraint section.

In North America vehicle manufacturers wouldn't be willing to consider retrofitting a vehicle at all - but here all vehicles with the exception of a few industrial class ones have come with the lower anchors since 2002. VW (I believe, though it might've been Volvo,) used to do it in 2000 and 2001 model year vehicles, but discontinued the practice a few years back.

I find it odd that a passenger vehicle of such a recent model year wouldn't have them pre-installed, so have a look in your vehicle manual to double check that they're not there.

Availability of Isofix connectors in European cars vary greatly. VW has done a great job and had them for many years. Many other brands have had vehicles prepared for Isofix but not actually had the connectors in place. Lame in my opinion.
