Can you submerge a crotch buckle?

I'm washing DNi's seat. I just want to know if I can submerge the crotch buckle and wash with soapy water. I would keep the webbing out of the water.

TIA.

I guess it depends on the manufacturer. I have an Evenflo Titan manual here in front of me and in the 'Care and Cleaning' section it say "DO NOT (in red bolded letters) immerse buckle in water".

Ok, ok. Better question yet --

Is it allowed to take the nekkid seat and spray it down with the stinkin' hose?

ETA:

WTF?! I just found a fruit snack shoved into the bottom harness slots!

SafeSeat1.

I think I recall it allowing it.

I always find crazy stuff when I take my seats apart to clean them...

I found a missing barrette (in addition to all of the crumbs) in my goddaughter's BLVD. This was in her mom's car when I was helping to remove the cover so she could wash it. How it got all the way under the cover of the seat and down to the bottom is beyond me!

I've hosed out my GN before and left it out in the sun to dry quickly. I did try to keep harness as dry as possible though.

I'm just worried about the spring things in it, since it's a bucket seat. I wouldn't want to rust the springs, making the handle not work right, KWIM?

Oh, and right on the underside of the buckle: To clean, rinse with warm water only.
