I was leaving TRU w/the kids and saw someone in their car w/ an empty Nautilus box next to it. I said to the kids "Oh yeah, someone is getting a new car seat" just kinda joking around, semi-jealous . A young guy popped his head out and smiled at the comment, then said "can I ask you a question?" ... .... Sure! He had it installed w/ Latch & TT and was looking at the manual . Wanted to know if he was supposed to use the seatbelt too ... no. I told him either belt or LAtch is equally acceptable, but not both. Jus sometimes one works better .. I pulled his belt all the way out and it didn't lock (which suprised me, I tried it a few times) -- told him it was probably best to stick w/ the Latch. He asked if he was using the correct TT point. I told him to check his car manual, but since it was a sedan and there was a TT directly behind each seating position, my guess was he was supposed to be using the one right behind the seat .. which he was. Then I gave the seat a wiggle and told him it was too loose -- needed to be 1" or less of movement. He asked "what's this piece is for?" -- it was the backless booster adjuster .. I told him what is was for and he wouldn't need it for awhile - he was using it harness mode. He thanked me. I never did ask what age child he was using it for ... but maybe that was best, he already made his selection - not my job to snd him back to the store, but I was glad I could give him a few tips to get it installed safely.
