Glad I went over there . . .

About a month ago I posted a thread that my friend had turned her just turned 2 year-olds forward facing. Her neighbor had borrowed her seats and installed them for her again and she told me he installed it forward facing because that is how he knew to do it and she was fine with it. At the time, it was two Boulevards. I did see that he used the tether, so I was happy about that.

Well, now she has a TF Recline for her son, so I went over there to help her with the installation. Her son's old BLVD was in there and when I took it out, I noticed that the neighbor didn't switch the LATCH connectors to the FF position. And her daughter's seat was not in there tight and of course the LATCH connectors were also still in RF mode. I took all the seats out and since the covers were dirty from drink spills and food, we took them off and washed them and I wiped down both seats. I went back tonight to help her put the cover back on her daughter's BLVD and reinstall the seat. I explained to her how the LATCH connectors need to be switched. I really wish she'd take more of an interest in learning to install the seats herself and going to see a tech. At least her husband has paid more attention when I showed him. I feel much better knowing that the seats are in there properly now. I cringed at the thought of her daughter having been in that loose seat for about a month now. :(
