Need links about benefits of RF-ing...

Just got off the phone with my college roommate and we were discussing car-seat safety. Ok , I admit I totally steared the conversation that way after noticing she turned her just over 1 yo FF in a facebook photo. She said, oh, but his legs are too long to stay RFing. Anyway, I told her the reserach suggests that RFing is safer even if his legs are longer and that the current recs are RFing to the weight limit of the seat (did I forget to mention she's a pediatrician!). Anyway - I didn't push the issue but said I'd send the info that convinced me to *try* to turn my older, 40lb 2YO RFing again - that's a whole nother story involving a Prius and a Radian that didn't get along.

I know I read a blog post by a Seattle pediatrician about 2 being the new 1 or something and I know I saw a youtube video comparing RFing and FFing in the same crash. Tried looking for them but couldn't find them quick.

Please post any info you think would be helpful.

The quick video that I like is:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sssIsceKd6U"]YouTube- Rear facing vs forward facing position in the car[/ame]

But Joel's Journey has info she might find interesting. Grandpa has done a ton of work gathering a lot of studies and statements from the AAP and other reputable sources.

The carseatblog's page has a link to the journal Pediatrics article. She should read that, if nothing else.
