Mirrors for rear facing seats

I have a friend who wants to turn her 18 month old, 19 lbs dd forward facing because she crys she wants to watch the video that her 4 year old is watching. And can't obviously see it ff. And mom is so sick of listening to baby cry:rolleyes::rolleyes: SHe is in a MA, RF that is tethered. Mom drives a Dodge caravan. Baby is in drivers side captains seat. Do you think if she got a mirror for the headrest and tilted it a bit baby could see the video. If so what mirror would you recommend. Since the seat is tethered she won't rebound into the mirror.

My understanding from other parents who have done this is that it is VERY hard to aim the mirror correctly and the picture will be distorted. Even if the rebound hazard is gone, there's still the projectile hazard. I'm not sure I'd trust velcro straps (what's usually on the mirrors afaik) to restrain the mirror in a crash and the soft, flexible ones are very distorted.

Is there anyway mom could get a dvd player for her that is built into the headrest?

My DH was able to install ours for our DD who is RF.

Ours came with 2, and we'll have them both RF for awhile, but he could have installed one for a RF chid and one for a FF child.

Since they are part of the headrest, no chance of it becoming a projectile.

Ours is similar to this:

Except we put them on the back seats, facing the front of the car. If it doesn't make sense I can try to get a picture.

I'd love to see this sometime Tia! Hopefully we'll run into each other at a check. We make long trips to see family a few times a year and sometimes wish we had a DVD player to keep J entertained. I had no idea you could do something like that if your vehicle didn't come with them.

(Sorry, thread hijack over!)

I'm not sure which vehicles come with them installed, but we just bought ours at Best Buy, I think.

You could do a search for headrest dvd players and tons of different brands come up.
