Mazda5: old vs. new 3rd row shoulder belts

I drive an 07 and the shoulder belts are ridiculous, but no biggie for us as everyone in the 3rd row is in a harnessed seat. I heard the newer models fixed that issue, but when I was at the dealership the other day and looking at a 2010 model, I couldn't see a difference. However, I didn't sit in it, just played with the 3rd row through the back. Can someone enlighten me?

(And, if anyone knows, how well does a Frontier85 work in the 3rd row of the Mazda5?)

They changed in 2009 (I have a 2008 as well). I believe they moved where the seat belt attaches at the bottom which helps things.

I haven't tried it myself but there has been posts that the Frontier is good in the 3rd row. Not sure about the Frontier85, hopefully someone else has tried it and can post. The only seat I haven't got to work back there and have read others can't get is a FF Radian.

Oh, changed the seat belt at the vehicle seat, that makes sense, because I couldn't get a good look there. Thanks for replying.

I, too, could not get a FF Radian there. And the Safeguard didn't fit. Other than that it's been golden, so I'll probably go ahead and get a Frontier85 in the future.
