is britax keeping the older car seat line?

at target today they were resetting the store. The car seat isle had just been started. They only had the britax out on display. All over both the Marathon and Roundabout 50 it said "Classic". The manuals, boxes, and seat cover all said either "Britax Marathon Classic" or "Roundabout 50 Classic". To me it appeared they are going to produce both old and new styles of seats and call the old ones classic. The Roundabout was priced at $179 and The Marathon Classic had a price point of $199. I have pics but will have to figure out how to upload them from my phone.

I think they are just using up left over fabric and parts. There was a Marathon Classic in Soltice at one of my targets and someone else said they found a Roundabout 50 Classic in Kathryn (Advocate pattern)

Ah! That was the pattern I saw today! Our Target is/has reset too. There are few more seats to be put out and they didn't get the Pink Scenera but the new seats are cute. I would like to see the new comfort sport pattern) on a Nauilus or a Snugride (laurel).

this has me concerned they won't have parts available for people who need them in a year or two and we will be screwed. I plan to use my seats until they expire. I hope they keep sufficient stock for parts in case I need something!

i think its more to use up the shells than the parts, because parts are in more demand. I'm sure they will keep their parts dept well stocked.

I  that fabric (kathryn)! I was disappointed they didn't keep it for the new line since it is such a new one. Now I want to go to target. I don't need this, I don't need this ... :D

I would not count on britax keeping their parts department "well stocked"! I have had several Britax seats that have been discontinued and ya know what, not a single time have they ever had the parts I have needed! That leaves me with buying another seat if I can find one cheap and stealing the parts or purchasing all new seats for my kids!

When there was a defect w/my Parkway and called Britax, they said "Sorry- it's been discontinued" I would not count on them keeping parts around.

What did they end up doing with your parkway?

So I'm guessing we should get a spare cover/harness/styrofoam before they sell out of those items?

Last night the little Target near my work had 2 Britax Roundabout 50 Classics in Kathryn! I was so surprised to see them there because that store carries VERY FEW car seats!
