location of tether anchor in 2001 ford windstar

I'm letting a friend borrow a scenera for her ds. (He's about to outgrow it, but it's better than the expired century seat he was in.) I didn't know how to lock the belt and mom wanted to use latch anyway because she never had before. (Obviously, the century seat didn't have latch.) I showed her how to latch it in and we got it in good and tight, but we couldn't find the tether anchors and she doesn't have the manual. Where are they?

IIRC, someone here posted pictures of the tether anchors in a Windstar in the tether anchor pictorial thread if someone with better google fu than mine can churn that up for a visual aid. :) The LATCH manual answer is that the '01 Windstar has tether anchors for every rear seating position and on the front passenger seat if it's a manually adjustable passenger seat. The manual front passenger seat has a tether anchor on the lower back of the seat frame and the tether anchor hook must be attached with the hook opening facing downward. The second row tether anchors are under the bottom of the seat if it has a second row bench, or on a metal cross bar below the lower edge of the vehicle seatback if it has second row captain's chairs. The third row's tether anchors are on the bottom of the rear seat cushion. Second row outboard and third row outboard positions have full LATCH. If she's installing in the third row center, a third row center LATCH installation is allowable in the Windstar by borrowing the innermost outboard lower anchors (if those anchors aren't being used for outboard installs in the third row) if the carseat manufacturer also allows borrowing with lower anchors spaced 9.8 inches apart. Dorel allows borrowing with non-standard spacing if the vehicle manufacturer allows it.

Thanks! I'm still all muddled. I should check out the tether anchor pictorial. The seat is installed on the second row bench, passenger's side.

I found the pictorial. The windstar was the first set of pictures:) I think I understand now and I'll fix the anchor on Wednesday, when I see the friend again.

We cross posted, lol. I found the picture in the pictorial thread and posted the link for it right above your reply. Glad it's helpful for you and your friend. :)
